Bible Study Groups

Bible Study Groups are central to the life of our church. Because of their small size, they allow for discussion and friendships in a way that our large Sunday church services cannot. Bible Study Groups help us to grow as Christians by teaching us how to make sense of the Bible for ourselves, and by providing the opportunity to develop trusting, prayerful friendships.

Groups meet weekly in people’s homes or in a meeting room at church. They are usually made up of 3 to 12 people. They typically run for 1.5 – 2 hours and include chatting, reading the Bible, discussing its meaning, sharing and praying together. You don’t need to know anything about the Bible to join – nor do you need to be confident about pray aloud.

There are groups for all ages and stages, from high school upwards (including a mums group with a crèche), and meet at various times during the week. Contact us to get involved in a group.

For young adults

Once a term the young adults get together to solve the problems of the world. Well, at least they spend some time hanging out and talking things through. These events are social gatherings, but also provide a unique opportunity to address the stuff young people care about, like issues of personal identity and career, gender and sexuality, the internet and social media. See the Events Page or Calendar for information about what’s coming up.

For women

Our women’s ministry team is active in helping women connect, support one another and grow together in faith. They run a variety of events throughout the year, from gingerbread house making afternoons and clothes swap nights to quiet evenings discussing the Bible over dinner. They also help coordinate prayer triplets for women who want to meet to pray regularly. See the Events Page or Calendar for information about what’s coming up.

For men

Men of all ages get the opportunity to spur one another on to live as men of integrity and purpose, at a handful of blokes-only events throughout the year. These have included breakfast talks, a night at Eastern Creek Raceway, weekends away camping and one-day conferences. See the Events Page or Calendar for information about what’s coming up.

For those aged 50 plus (or minus!)

There’s plenty on at church for empty nesters, with the 50+/- team organising a host of excursions every year, providing an opportunity to get to know one another better. In the past, these have included trips to hear the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Parramatta Park, Christmas in July events, river cruises and more. See the Events Page or Calendar for information about what’s coming up.
